International Week at the Department of Special Education

Thanks to the initiative of doc. Štefan Chudý, we had the pleasure of hosting 41 students and 4 teachers from Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands) from May 12–16, led by Assoc. Prof. Paul Stuit.

As part of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), organized by Saxion University, the programme included not only an online lecture by doc. Chudý but also in-person professional placements for the students at our partner schools: ZŠ Dětská 915, ZŠ a MŠ Ostrčilova, and ZŠ Šalounova (Halasova).

These placements were arranged in cooperation with the Placement Department of the Faculty of Education, University of Ostrava, and the placement coordinator dr. Renata Kovářová.

We would like to thank all our colleagues who contributed with great dedication to the organization of this event: Mgr. Daniel Kopitz, dr. Renata Kovářová, Mgr. Ivana Schmejkalová, Michaela Sikorová – and last but not least, our cooperating schools.

The feedback from the schools was overwhelmingly positive. All parties expressed interest in continuing the collaboration, for example through reciprocal activities within the Erasmus+ programme. Saxion University of Applied Sciences also expressed a strong interest in continuing the international partnership.
