AnotationThe aim of the SGS project is to understand and describe how mothers living in generational poverty in socially excluded localities view their parenting competencies before and after six months of participation in the Pheňori project Data collection will be done through semi-structured interview and participant observation method, which will be subsequently analyzed using IPA methodology. We expect that the acquired parenting competencies will enable mothers to understand their role as mothers and help them to direct activities more specifically and responsibly towards the development of the child in all important areas. The study will help to reveal and describe the related phenomena and their influence on the quality of child development at the age of 0-3 years, in which children build the cognitive, emotional and social foundation for their future existence. The research is connected with Heckman who argues that investment in this period has the highest social return as the child is prepared for his or her educational and professional growth.
