AnotationEducational tendencies towards constructivist conception of education in CR are more delayed than in the world, which (according to PISA, PIAAC) results in decreasing functional (reading) literacy even in the current digital generation of Czech secondary school pupils. Reading literacy is now a lifelong right, the need of every individual, which requires social maturity, communicative, reading competence to solve everyday problems, critical thinking, teamwork, developing metacognition and metamotivation in the field of professional orientation and labor market in a changing digital society. The research team will use its professional and methodological competences, experience, knowledge of pedagogy, diagnostics and evaluation of the domestic and foreign research results with a focus on reading and digital literacy. The qualitative methods (focus group method, content analysis of documents, semi-structured interviews) and quantitative methods (questionnaires) will be used to investigate the factors influencing the level of pupils' reading strategies. The research results will contribute to a constructivist teaching concept of reading in secondary schools. The aim of the project is to identify the factors affecting the level of reading strategies of the research sample of secondary vocational schools (SVS) students. A partial goal of the project is to find out what books and authors have SVS in CR in their school-leaving lists.
