Course objectives:

The subject focuses on a selected issue of music education overlapping with didactics of music education. Students will establish and broaden their music skills. The subject is designed as an active subject and is open to students who are musical beginners as well as for advanced students.

Requirements on student:

  • 75 % attendance
  • Active participation
  • Final group presentation

Content:

  1. Voice and singing education: one and two part voice singing, canon.
  2. Rhythm and movement I: the body as an instrument, the rhythmics of speech, reproduced and improvised rhythmic activities.
  3. Rhythm and movement II: reproduction of rhythmic notation, getting familiar with sheet music.
  4. Instrumental activities I: playing Orff instruments, reproduction of notation, improvisation.
  5. Instrumental activities II: playing Orff instruments, reading and reproducing sheet music; preparing a rhythmic accompaniment for a selected song.
  6. Listening activities: intuitive listening, emotional content of musical work, combining music listening with other types of art.
  7. Conclusions, discussions, final group presentation.
