Synopsis / description / annotation:

The course deals with some key issues on school educational system in the Czech Republic in the context of International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED). The main aim of the whole course is to present the structure of school institutions, to explain who and when attend to and which kind of school institution, and for how long period of compulsary school attandance. Presenting some main facts on Czech school policy with clear exploration, and interesting information about schooling in the country of Czechia will be included.

Course Objectives:

The main objectives of the course are the following ones: a) presenting and understanding the specifics of school education system in the Czech Republic, b) getting to know the specifics of some selected groups of pupils in school education and their context, and c) understanding some key terminology constructs existing in the context of czech school educational system.

Requirement to student

  • You are expected to complete all assigned readings and exercises.
  • Participation also means: active involvement in discussion, postings, individual and group activities.
  • Analysis of the books, different texts related to the topics of the course.
  • Preparing the presentation on the selected topic of the course.
  • Presentation and Interpetation.
  • Discusssion.
