Synopsis/description/annotation:
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with basic of snowboarding skills and teoretic knowledge.
Requirement to student:
The overall assessment is based on the study and examination rules of the University of Ostrava and consists of the sum of points obtained during the semester from two continuous tests (100-51 points (E) "passed", 50-0 points (F) "failed").
Assessment during the Semester Seminars:
- Active participation in all course lessons = 20 points
- Successful completion of the knowledge requirements (test) = 30 points
- Practical skill requirements = 50 points
Content
The theoretical part:
- Psychology of athlete's personality, emotions and motivation in sport
- Pedagogy human development, motor learning, educational activities in sport, didactic principles of the method of form, procedures, personality of the teacher (in snowboarding lessons)
- Traumatology, first aid, sports injuries
- Hygiene of sport and nutrition regenerative procedures, regenerative exercises, basics of nutrition
- History and present SNB, SNB organization in the Czech Republic, racing SNB
- Teaching (snowboarding) children
- Didactics of snowboarding
- Principles of safety when riding downhill / cross-country trails
- Equipment SNB
- Technique and methodology of snowboarding theory
Practical part:
- Basic elements of wearing and getting on, basic SNB postition, falling (front side and back side) and getting up, balance, sliding down, downhill, slope and lift
- Specialized training basic SNB position, shear bends (basic shear bend, bend with relief), bends with different radius, cut bend
- Methodic series: slipping down, slipping dow (falling leaf), riding lifts, basic skidded turn, up un-weighted skidded turn, basic carved turn
- Didactics: use of bars and aids for teaching snowboarding, didactic outputs
- Introduction to freestyle riding
Teaching methods:
Teoretic knowleadge (lecture, briefing)
Practical skills (explanation, demonstration, feedback, correction, video analysis)

- D2 - Training and creating motoric / sports skills
Evaluation methods:
- IC8 - Didactic test (teoretical knowledge)
- IB4 – Motor skill test (examination of practical skills)

- English A2
- Spanish A2
Skilled requirements:
For successful completion of the course it is assumed that the student is capable of motor learning.

Possibility of rental (SNB equipment), Price of SNB course around 4.000,- CZK (accomodation, full board – 3 meals/day, teaching aids)
SNB course takes place in Bíla (Beskydy Mountains, Czech Republic).
