Aims and objectives:
The structure of the course is variable and can be adapted to suit the enrolled students' skill level. This means that the course can have two different goals.
The first goal involves practising and improving motor skills to the extent covered by the basic sports gymnastics programme.
The second goal involves practising and improving motor skills to an extent depending on students' abilities and the equipment available, above and beyond the content of the basic programme. The teaching involves a more individualized component by tailoring content to individual skill levels and incorporating aspects of problem-based teaching, which can also be used when coaching school gymnastics groups and gymnastics clubs. The teaching encourages students to work independently and creatively to develop routines.
Topics of lectures:
- Acrobacy (roll / handstand drills), High bar exercises (pull up, forward stride circle, backward stride circle, underswing)
- Acrobacy (cartwheel, handstand, backward roll to handstand), Parallel bars (arms travelling, swinging), Balance beam (walking, jumping, turning, balance positions)
- Acrobacy (roundoff, front handspring), Vaulting (direct vaults - straddle vault, squat vault), Rings (swinging, backward dismount - straddled, swinging and rotation)
- Acrobacy (repeated exercises), High bar exercises (repeated exercises, upstarts), Trampoline (dive roll, front flip)
- Acrobacy (repeated exercises), Parallel bars (shoulder stand, raised leg swing, dismount), Balance beam (forward roll, dismount)
- Acrobacy (practising routines), Vaulting (turn vaults - dive roll vault, front handspring), Rings (two-arm lift, half lever, swinging - routine)
- Acrobacy (repeated practice, plus front flip), High bar exercises (kip, practice of routine for crediting), Trampoline (bent knee front flip)
- Acrobacy (repeated practice, back handspring), Parallel bars (practice of routine for crediting), Balance beam (practice and improvement of routine)
- Acrobacy (repeated practice, back flip practice), Vaulting (direct and turn vaults), Rings (practice of routine for crediting)
- Revision of content via practice - individual focus on rectification of technical issues

- Final diagnostic session - fulfilment of practical crediting requirements
- Final diagnostic session - fulfilment of practical crediting requirements
Requirements for students:
- Active participation in practice sessions (2 absences allowed), required gymnastics kit
- Performance requirements - crediting routines using five types of equipment in accordance with the rules of sports gymnastics - 50 points
Students gain a further 50 points for fulfilling all the above-listed requirements in 1 semester.
