Annotation:
The objective is to give students an overview of the economic history of the Czech lands from the arrival of the Slavs until the present day (including political and demographic aspects and international relations).
Content:
- early feudalism in the Czech lands
- development of the Czech state in the era of the Premyslids and Luxembourgs
- Hussitism in the Jagiellonian period
- the emergence of the Habsburgs on the Czech throne
- developments after the Battle of the White Mountain
- Theresian-Josephine reforms in the 18th century
- the industrial revolution and development until WWI
- the First Republic and the interwar economy
- developments after WWII and socialism
- Czech economic transformation after 1989
