AnotationThe present project focuses on the cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric validation of the Physical Education Teacher Efficacy Scale (PETES) for Czech-speaking populations. The study aims to produce a valid and reliable Czech version of PETES that can serve as a tool for assessing teachers? perceived efficacy in physical education (PE) settings. The research design follows the internationally recognized TRAPD scientific protocol. The protocol includes forwards and back translation, expert review, and pre-testing before initiating the validation phase. This ensures linguistic clarity, cultural relevance, and conceptual equivalence of the translated items, leading to the initial Czech version of the PETES. Data collection comprises three measurement periods. The first and second periods (conducted two to four weeks apart) enable test?retest reliability assessment. Additionally, structural validity and internal consistency will be tested using Structural Equation Modelling and Cronbach?s alphas. The third data collection period will allow for the assessment of construct and criterion-related validity, including analyses of invariance by sex and education level. Considering the importance of self-efficacy towards the quality of the teaching-learning process, and bearing in mind the peculiar context in which PE is carried out, the scientific validation of PETES may allow scientists and practitioners to efficiently analyse not only the current levels of quality PE in the Czech context, but also their relationship with other parameters considered as essential for the enhancement of education.
