  • Status of the course in study program: The course is a part of the study program Physical Education and sport.

Annotation:

The course provides a theoretical basis for the study of sports biomechanics. The course includes applications of experimental biomechanics methods in sport and physical education.

Aims and objectives:

The course aims to introduce students to the fundamental way: how we can use biomechanics in physical education and sport.

Topics of lectures:

  1. Biomechanics of sport and physical exercise; external biomechanics - external forces and their effect on the body and its movement
  2. Strength - maintaining balance, changes in motor state
  3. Kinematics - the description of bodies in motion
  4. Dynamics - explanation of the causes of movement
  5. Work, Power and Energy - explanation of causes of motion without Newton's laws Moment of strength - maintaining balance and change in rotational state
  6. Angular kinematics and dynamics - a description of the rotational body movements and explanation of their causes
  7. Mechanics of fluids - effect of water and air on motion of bodies; biomechanics of internal motion of bodies (inner strength) and their effect on the body and its movements
  8. Mechanics of biological material - pressure and tension in the body section
  9. Skeletal system - rigid box body
  10. Muscular system - the engine of the body, muscle power transmission to the external environment
  11. Nervous system - management and control of the musculoskeletal system
  12. Application of biomechanical principles
